Providing education opportunities for surrounding communities.
Seventy years ago, Humani and Roger Whittall Safaris built the Humani School with a simple vision: to bring education within reach of local children who would otherwise face long and often unsafe journeys to learn. In partnership with the Zimbabwean government, which manages the school and its teachers, the classrooms now welcome around 400 students each year, from ECD through to Grade 7. What once required a walk of over ten kilometres is now just a short distance from home, opening the door to education for hundreds of children and giving them the chance to look forward to brighter opportunities.

We remain closely connected to the school's story and remain involved in the school's projects. Safari clients often donate books, pens, and sports equipment, while volunteers from our gap-year programme spend time with the children, sharing games and laughter that go beyond the classroom. Over two decades, the Humani School has become more than just a building, it has become a place of growth, safety, and hope for the surrounding communities, and a reminder of how small investments can leave a lasting legacy. The school remains in the centre of Humani HQ, and creates employment opportunities locally for our surrounding communities.
